The learner demonstrates understanding and appreciation of key concepts and skills involving numbers and number sense (whole numbers up to 1 000, ordinal numbers up to 20th, money up to PhP100, the four fundamental operations of whole numbers, and unit fractions); geometry (basic shapes, symmetry, and tessellations); patterns and algebra (continuous and repeating patterns and number sentences);measurement (time, length, mass, and capacity); and statistics and probability (tables, pictographs, and outcomes) as applied - using appropriate technology - in critical thinking, problem solving, reasoning, communicating, making connections, representations, and decisions in real life.

This course is Grade 8 Science Quarter 1.  In this quarter, Science 8 is focused on laws of motion, work, power and energy, sound, light, heat, and electricity. This subject aims to deepen students’ scientific attitudes and skills to solve problems critically and creatively.

General Chemistry 1 is a subject taken by all STEM students in the Senior High School.

The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of factors of polynomials, rational algebraic expressions, linear equations and inequalities in two variables, systems of linear equations and inequalities in two variables and linear functions.

This course is provided to Grade 8 Learners. This contains first quarter topics focusing on the study of motion, particularly the laws of motion. These laws provide an example of the breadth and simplicity of principles under which nature functions.

This course is provided to grade 9 students. This contains first quarter topic focusing on how the respiratory and circulatory work together to sustain life.

This module will help you understand and explore the history of music.

The first quarter is all about the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque Period in music. Together, let’s go back to where music was evident in the recorded writings of how it flourished in Europe.

Medieval Music is an era from 500-1400. It started from the fall of the Roman Empire to the beginning of the Renaissance. Music at this time was dominated by the Catholic Church because of its sacred songs used for worship.

After the Dark Ages, a new era in history of music followed. It was a period of discovery, innovation and exploration. They call it Renaissance Period (1400-1600). It simply means “rebirth”. Church’ political control was questioned that is why composers had the chance to focus on art, classical mythology and even astronomy and mathematics.

Baroque Period (1600 -1750) in music was considered to finish around the time of Johann Sebastian Bach’s death 1970 and George Frederic Handel 1759. A music full of drama, energetic in spirit, and grandiosity. This also is the scientific discoveries of Galileo and Sir Isaac Newton.
